Biografie / Biography
Das Erinys Quartett mit Sitz in Helsinki, Finnland, wurde von einer internationalen Gruppe von Musikern gegründet, die an der Sibelius-Akademie studieren. Das Erinys Quartet hat hauptsächlich bei Marko Ylönen an der Sibelius-Akademie studiert und erhielt zusätzliche Anleitung von Günter Pichler, Levon Chilinirian, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Kyril Zlotnikov (Jerusalem Quartet), Simone Gramaglia (Quartteto di Cremona) und Corentin Apparailly (Arod Quartet). Sie haben auch mit dem Pacifica und dem Dover Quartet zusammengearbeitet. Das Ensemble reiste nach Norwegen, um an der Trondheim International Chamber Competition 2021 teilzunehmen, wo es auch die Gelegenheit hatte, Konzerte im Großraum Trondheim zu geben. In den Sommern 2020 und 2021 war Erinys virtuell als aufstrebendes Künstlerensemble beim Mimir Chamber Music Festival zu sehen, wo sie webbasierte Konzerte für ein globales Publikum gaben. 2022 nahmen sie live am Mimir Festival in Fort Worth, Texas, teil. Im Herbst 2021 arbeitete das Quartett mit dem Komponisten und Percussionisten I-Han Fu zusammen und brachte Werke für Streichquartett und Tabla zur Uraufführung. Während der Saison 2022 nahm das Erinys Quartet zusätzlich zu seinen Konzertaktivitäten in Finnland am ersten Dover Quartet Workshop am Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) und am Festival Groba in Ponteareas, Spanien, teil. Dem Quartett wurde die Ehre zuteil, Kaija Saariahos Terra Memoria im Rahmen des Festkonzerts zum 70-jährigen Jubiläum des Komponisten in Helsinki aufzuführen. Seit 2021 wird Erinys von Le Dimore del Quartetto unterstützt, einem in Mailand ansässigen Netzwerk, das sich der Karriereentwicklung junger Streichquartette verschrieben hat, indem es Möglichkeiten bietet, in ganz Europa in historischen Häusern und Veranstaltungsorten aufzutreten und zu studieren. |
The Erinys Quartet, based in Helsinki, Finland, was formed by an international group of musicians studying at the Sibelius Academy. Erinys Quartet has primarily studied with Marko Ylönen at the Sibelius Academy and has received additional guidance from Günter Pichler, Levon Chilingirian, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Kyril Zlotnikov (Jerusalem Quartet), Simone Gramaglia (Quartteto di Cremona), and Corentin Apparailly (Arod Quartet). They have also worked with the Pacifica and Dover Quartet. The ensemble traveled to Norway to participate in the 2021 Trondheim International Chamber Competition where they also had the opportunity to play concerts around the greater Trondheim area. In the summers of 2020 and 2021, Erinys was featured virtually as an Emerging Artist ensemble at Mimir Chamber Music Festival where they performed web-based concerts for global audiences. In 2022 they took part in Mimir Festival live in Fort Worth, Texas. Summer 2021 also took them to the Greek cities of Larisa and Meteora where they performed as part of the Meteora Music Days festival. In Autumn 2021, the quartet collaborated with composer and percussionist I-Han Fu premiering works for string quartet and tabla. During the 2022 season, in addition to their concert activities in Finland, Erinys Quartet participated in the inaugural Dover Quartet Workshop at the Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and Festival Groba in Ponteareas, Spain. The quartet was honored to perform Kaija Saariaho’s Terra Memoria in the composer’s 70th anniversary celebration concert in Helsinki. Since 2021 Erinys has been supported by Le Dimore del Quartetto, a Milan-based network devoted to developing the careers of young string quartets by providing opportunities to perform and study throughout Europe in historic houses and venues. |
