Als Tillett Debut Artists 2025 tritt das Isla String Quartet in den Spielzeiten 2025-27 an verschiedenen Orten in Großbritannien auf, darunter Conway Hall, Kings Lynn Festival und Hexham Abbey. Kürzlich wurden sie für das Tunnell Trust Music Club Award Scheme ausgewählt und freuen sich auf ihre Konzerttournee durch Schottland im Jahr 2027. Außerdem gewannen sie den Royal College of Music Quartet Competition 2025, den ersten Royal Academy of Music Nina Drucker Haydn String Quartet Competition 2024 und waren Finalisten beim Royal Over-Seas League Competition 2025.
Zu den bemerkenswerten Kooperationen zählen die Aufführung von Mozarts Streichquintett in B-Dur mit dem renommierten Bratschisten und Komponisten Brett Dean beim Calne Music and Arts Festival 2024 und Brahms' Klavierquintett mit Ryan Wigglesworth in der Smith Square Hall. Als Britten Pears Young Artists 2023-24 gaben sie am Ende ihrer Kammermusik-Residenz ein Mittagskonzert in der Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall und wurden dabei von Alasdair Beatson gecoacht. Beim Virtuoso&Belcanto Festival 2025 spielten sie die Europapremiere von Paola Prestinis The Red Book.
Das Isla String Quartet wurde an der Royal Academy of Music gegründet und ist dankbar für die kontinuierliche Betreuung und Anleitung durch John Myerscough (Doric String Quartet) sowie Bryony Gibson-Cornish und Sineád O’Halloran (Marmen Quartet).
Außerdem erhielten sie Unterricht bei Kammermusikspezialisten wie Hélène Clement, Ying Xue und Lawrence Power und nahmen an Festivals wie Virtuoso&Belcanto und Schiermonnikoog teil, wo sie bei Heime Müller, Luc-Marie Aguerra, Adrian Brendel und Marc Danel lernten.
As Tillett Debut Artists 2025, the Isla String Quartet are performing around the UK in the 2025-27 seasons in venues including Conway Hall, Kings Lynn Festival and Hexham Abbey. They were recently selected for the Tunnell Trust Music Club Award Scheme and are looking forward to their Scotland concert tour in 2027. They have also won the Royal College of Music Quartet Competition 2025, the inaugural Royal Academy of Music Nina Drucker Haydn String Quartet Competition 2024, and were finalists at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition 2025.
Notable collaborations include performing Mozart’s B-flat major string quintet with renowned violist and composer Brett Dean at the Calne Music and Arts Festival 2024, and Brahms’ Piano Quintet with Ryan Wigglesworth at Smith Square Hall. As Britten Pears Young Artists 2023-24, they gave a lunchtime recital at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall at the end of their Chamber Music Residency, receiving coaching from Alasdair Beatson. They gave the European premier of Paola Prestini’s The Red Book at the Virtuoso&Belcanto Festival 2025.
The Isla String Quartet formed at the Royal Academy of Music, and are grateful for the continued mentorship and guidance from John Myerscough (Doric String Quartet), and Bryony Gibson-Cornish and Sineád O’Halloran (Marmen Quartet).
They have also had coaching with chamber music specialists such as Hélène Clement, Ying Xue, Lawrence Power and have attended festivals including Virtuoso&Belcanto and Schiermonnikoog, learning with Heime Müller, Luc-Marie Aguerra, Adrian Brendel and Marc Danel.
